Homonyms Part 1
As this is a blog we will concentrate on written english. A common cause of writing errors are words that sound the same and mean different things. I am sure you have heard about synonyms, when two different words mean almost the same thing, but what we will talk about today are homonyms. The most common homonym error is to, two, and too. These words have different meanings. First off "to" implies a direction such as "I need to go to the grocery store to buy milk" or "I sent a post card to Renata." The second word we will cover is "two" this is of course the number 2 such as "I packed two apples in my lunch today." Finally we have "too" this word is used to mean in addition such as "me too" or it can mean that something is excessive "It was too cold today. I was shivering all day long!"
