I am sure you know I am from Canada, you may even know that Canada is the second largest country on Earth by land area. I thought it may be useful to write something about Canada and have you ask questions about it. I suppose I am interested to hear what Brazilians think about Canada, if they think about it at all. So that's what this post is about, ask me questions, and I will try to provide answers and hopefully this will be a learning activity for all of us, including the Gringo.

Hi, Steven! I'm João Luiz.
ReplyDeleteI'm 12 years old.
I'm Renata's student
I would like to know if you have a nice urban legend to tell us from Canada or if you remember a legend you used to hear when you were a teen.
Joao:
ReplyDeleteI am not that familiar with urban legends unfortunately so I will try to recall some. Honestly the only thing I can recall is the story of the Avro CF-105 Arrow. Five of these airplanes were built in Canada and used Pratt and Whitney engines from the United States. The project was canceled and the 5 prototypes were destroyed. There is an urban legend that a sixth prototype fitted with the Canadian made Orenda Iroquois engines got away and was flown to some unknown location, probably in the United States. This sixth aircraft was never actually flown, and the nose of the plane is still in Canada at an air museum.
Hello, Steven!
ReplyDeleteI'm Victória.
I'm 13 years old.
My question is:
Which places can teenagers have fun in Calgary?
Thanks..^^
Hello Victoria, in Calgary we have many things for teenagers to do. There are many organised sports teams such as football, soccer, rugby, volleyball and others. We have numerous pools and leisure centers notably the village square leisure centre and the trico leisure centre. There are recreational trails for cycling and rollerblading that cross the city. We also have the millenium skate park downtown. There are of course the usual malls and movie theatres. I am probably missing quite a lot of teenage activities but that is an overview.
ReplyDeleteHi, people! When I was going back home (Toronto Jul-2002) from a crazy adventurous excursion in Montreal, Quebec and Ottawa I heard about an urban legend. The story I heard said that a very strange guy pushed people who were near the edge of the platform into the path of the train. Of course I didn't believe in that ...but the next day my friends and I were going to Eaton Center after school the subway was full and I could notice a very important thing. NOBODY was near the edge of the platform. From this moment I started believing in that urban legend.
